Yes,
you can get hit. Roses son is a very sad example of this. I'd be very careful
while riding in an open area, where you are the tallest structure like WDO said.
Remember, you are not in a car where you have the so called "Faradäischer Käfig"
(don't know the englisch expression) around you to lead the tremendous current
to the ground. It hits you in the helmet, even though you have to rubber connections
to the ground.
